This makes it possible to use Narakeet as a voice changer. You can record your voice, then convert the spoken words back into audio using one of our 700 AI voice generators. It also makes working with Narakeet significantly easier on mobile devices, where typing longer text is not convenient.

How to use speech to text dictation to record your voice

First, make sure you are using the full version of our Text to Audio tool. (Similar forms on language demo pages will not have this option).

Select the language that you will be using for dictation and speech to text conversion. This is critically important to ensure correct speech recognition.

Press the Dictate button, and speak clearly into your computer or phone microphone

When you stop dictating, Narakeet will convert speech to text and add the text into the script field.

Availability and Limitations

Voice recording is immediately available to all free and commercial users with compatible browsers (Chrome and Safari).

Some browsers do not support speech recognition (importantly, Firefox does not). The “Dictate” button will not show in such browsers.

Speech recognition is a beta feature and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of recognised speech, as the conversion is done by your browser and device. We will not be able to accept bug reports related to the accuracy or quality of voice to text conversion.

Some browsers only support a limited number of languages for speech recognition, and your language might not be supported by the browser.

For best results, try using Chrome or Safari, and make sure to speak clearly in a quiet environment.

When using Safari, Siri and/or Dictation must be enabled in System Preferences or Settings.
